At tinyTour, we believe visitor technology should respect privacy. We aim to collect as little personal information as possible and to be clear about the information we do use.

The tinyTour visitor system

tinyTour is designed to work without requiring visitors to create an account, provide an email address or supply personal details.

The tinyTour app uses Bluetooth and Location Services on the visitor's device to detect nearby location beacons and provide relevant tour content. This information is used on the device to operate the tour and is not used by tinyTour to track individual visitors.

Once the tour has downloaded, it can operate without an internet connection.

We do not use tinyTour to build visitor profiles or sell visitor information to third parties.

To help venue staff check and fine-tune beacon detection, the tinyTour app sends the nearby beacon’s identifier and measured signal strength to the venue’s local tinyTour server when it is reachable. These diagnostic messages do not include your name, email address or a unique phone identifier. They help staff adjust when relevant tour content appears and are not used to build individual visitor profiles.

tinyTicket

Where a venue uses tinyTicket, a visitor may choose to have a photograph taken to create a personalised return pass.

The photograph is used for the purpose of identifying the return pass holder. The venue operating tinyTicket is responsible for its use of this information and for informing visitors how photographs and return-pass information are handled and retained.
