Your stories, in every visitor’s language.

A simple digital guide for historic houses, museums, gardens and visitor attractions.

Visitors use their own phones, while tinyTour™ delivers text, images and audio automatically as they explore.

about Us

At tinyTour™, we set out to create a simple, lightweight digital visitor companion. Developed in a historic house, not a software laboratory.

Visitors can explore at their own pace, discovering stories, images and audio in their preferred language as they move through rooms, grounds and collections.

Simplicity is at the heart of tinyTour. By using visitors’ own smartphones, there are no devices to issue, collect, charge or regularly replace, while the system requires minimal equipment and infrastructure. This makes tinyTour practical and affordable for venues of all sizes.

Our technology works quietly in the background, helping venues tell more of their stories while allowing visitors to concentrate on what really matters — the place itself.

surprisingly Simple

tinyTour™ doesn't need expensive venue-wide infrastructure.

A small local server stores your tour, discreet Bluetooth beacons identify locations, and visitors use the phones they already carry.

How it Works

tinyTour

1. Connect

The visitor joins your guest Wi‑Fi and scans the tinyTour QR code.

Only a brief connection to the internet is needed at the start.

2. Download

The visitor’s phone downloads your tour and selects the appropriate language automatically.

No app-store searching, and no need to borrow a device.

3. Explore

As the visitor moves through the venue, discreet beacons identify where they are.

The experience feels guided and effortless, without typing in numbers or searching menus, or scanning QR codes.

No app-store searching.
No mobile signal required.
No venue-wide Wi-Fi.

4. Discover

The right story, image or audio appears automatically on the visitor’s phone.

Interpretation appears in the right place, at the right moment. Audio can only be heard by holding the phone to your ear.

5. Continue

Once the tour has loaded, it keeps working around the venue without further internet access.

No mobile signal required and no dependence on venue-wide Wi‑Fi.

6. Leave

When the visitor leaves, the app remains on their phone, but your tour expires after 48 hours.

Your content stays tied to the venue, helping preserve the value of printed guidebooks and paid interpretation.

tinyTicket

1. Approach

Towards the end of their visit, the visitor approaches the tinyTicket point inside your venue.

Why it matters:
The return-ticket option only becomes available where you want it to, rather than throughout the visit.

2. Recognise

A discreet beacon lets tinyTour know the visitor is at the tinyTicket station and makes the return-ticket option available on their phone, or the visitot can use the iPad provided.

Why it matters:
There is no need for staff to explain the process or unlock anything manually.

No staff intervention at issue.
No ticket desk.
No complicated ticketing system.

3. Choose

The visitor follows the simple instructions on their own phone, or on the iPad takes a quick photograph and chooses to create their return ticket.

Why it matters:
It remains completely self-service, while the photograph provides a simple visual link between the visitor and their ticket.

4. Print

Their personalised return ticket, including their photograph, is printed instantly and ready to take away.

Why it matters:
Without staff, the visitor leaves with a simple physical ticket, with no photograph or data retained by tinyTicket.

5. Return

On a future visit, the guest presents their tinyTicket at the entrance.

Why it matters:
The printed photograph gives your team an immediate visual check that the ticket belongs to the person presenting it — helping prevent tickets being passed between visitors, without membership cards, names or formal ID checks

the Cost

FAQ

common Questions

Do I need extensive Wi-Fi infrastructure?

No. tinyTour only requires a reliable Wi-Fi connection at reception, the entrance or another designated meeting point. Visitors download the venue guide there before beginning their visit, so Wi-Fi coverage is not required throughout every room, building or garden.

Do my visitors need 5G or mobile data?

No. Once the guide has been downloaded, visitors do not need mobile data or continuous internet access. tinyTour is particularly suited to historic buildings, rural attractions and gardens where mobile coverage may be poor.

Is tinyTour cloud-based?

No. Each venue has its own compact, low-energy microserver, and the visitor guide is delivered locally. The day-to-day visitor experience is therefore not dependent on a remote cloud platform or a continuous internet connection.

Does tinyTour work if our internet connection fails?

Yes. The guide continues working. Because the visitor content is hosted at the venue, a failure of the external internet connection does not interrupt the visitor experience.

Can visitors access our guide after leaving?

No. The complete guide is designed to be available only as part of an on-site visit. This helps protect exclusive interpretation and supports continued sales of printed and souvenir guidebooks.

Does tinyTour support different languages?

Yes. tinyTour can provide written and audio content in multiple languages and can initially offer the language used by the visitor’s phone. Visitors can also select another available language manually.

Do visitors need specialist equipment?

No. Most visitors use their own smartphone. Venues can also provide a configured phone or small tablet for visitors who do not have a suitable device.

Do visitors need to download an app?

Yes. Visitors download the small free tinyTour app once, normally by scanning a QR code at the venue. The same app can then be used at any participating tinyTour venue.

Can tinyTour cover gardens and outdoor attractions?

Yes. A guide can include rooms, separate buildings, gardens, trails, trees, sculptures and individual objects. Content can appear as visitors move through the venue, while a manual menu remains available.

Can the system expand later?

Yes. A venue can begin with a small number of locations and add more rooms, buildings, outdoor areas or individual features later. Future locations can be prepared in advance while remaining hidden from the public menu until required.

Can we update our content?

Yes. Text, photographs, audio, languages and visitor routes can be updated without creating a separate app for every venue. Updates can be managed by the venue or provided as part of tinyTour’s ongoing support service.
